Sinarmas Group Project: 400 Dorm & Toilet Containers by First Container

Sinarmas Group is one of Indonesia’s largest business conglomerates. The company was established in 1962 and now owns several subsidiaries such as Asia Pulp & Paper and palm oil producer PT. SMART Tbk.

Sinarmas has entrusted First container with the building and delivery of modified containers for the accommodation and toilet needs of their employees in their project site at Perawang, Riau. This will use 20ft, 10ft and 5ft containers, to be set up at their sustainable forest project location. Containers were chosen because they are more environmentally friendly, mobile and uses eco-friendly features such as solar panels, wooden flooring and non-freon air conditioning, in accordance with Sinarmas Group’s Environmental Resources Management (ERM) standards to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

First Container has started building 400 units of these containers since early May 2016, with a 13-15 week time frame for completion. Our target is to complete and deliver 30 containers every week to Perawang, Riau Province. Through a rigorous selection process in choosing materials, export-standard containers, labour and delivery options, we have committed ourselves to protecting the business reputation of our partner.
